While we encourage everyone to enjoy the fall weather that is approaching, many of our personal pets here at the clinic are uncomfortable and have begun battling seasonal allergies.

Allergic symptoms are very common for those whom have pets with ATOPY (outdoor allergies such as grass, trees, molds, and pollen).

Common Seasonal Allergy Symptoms:

Licking, Chewing, Scratching, and Rubbing

-Often seen on the feet, sides of the belly, groin, armpits, and face

Chronic or Re-Occurring Ear infections

-Persistent shaking of the head, face rubbing, strong yeasty scent, and head tilt

If you feel that your pet maybe experiencing symptoms caused by seasonal allergies, contact us to schedule a consultation with one of our doctors whom can assess the possible cause and determine what options would be best for you and your pet’s life style.

Allergy testing and allergy injections are also available here at our clinic.

We have recently seen an influx in cases of flea infestation and ticks (in the nymph stage).  Fighting a flea infestation in your home is one of the most frustrating and cumbersome battles that many have this time of year.  This is why we veterinarians STRONGLY encourage that you use year-round flea and tick prevention.

If you have an After-Hours Emergency please contact the Veterinary Emergency Service located in Carbondale.  They can be reached at:
